Dear friends,

Yesterday I flight with Thomson airlines & I've been surprised to discover this new fair product onboard: THISRTY PLANET bottled water, they give 5p per small bottle (0,5 L) to the NGO Pump Aid, apparently reaching incredible results in Malawi & Zimbabwe. The kind of initiative that makes sense...

www.thirsty-planet.com: "It’s the 21st century and over a billion people in developing countries still cannot access clean drinking water while we in the west have the luxury of being able to choose from dozens of brands of bottled water or good old tap water.

The donations from sales of Thirsty Planet will allow Pump Aid to provide whole communities with clean water. When you buy a multipack you’re giving someone clean water for their whole life, while a 500ml bottle generates a five-year supply for one person. So every time you buy even one bottle, you give someone the greatest gift possible. Water."

www.pumpaid.org: "Pump Aid is a water and sanitation organisation that tackles poverty by working with local communities in southern Africa. We do this by establishing sustainable supplies of clean water and safer sanitation. The long-term effects of our work will ensure improved health and increased agricultural production.

Pump Aid works in Malawi and Zimbawe and has pilot programmes in neighbouring Mozambique. There is such a high demand elsewhere that we plan to expand into new African countries over the next five years."

"Our water no longer makes us sick", Sekuru Nyazika, Mutasa, Zimbabwe.
